Here is Version 2.0 of this program. It was released on September 4, 2006. This file can be opened using WinZip.

Here is the most recent version of the full layout (it includes the latest version of filemap.txt) it was last modified on September 6, 2006. You will need to place the full directory into your layouts directory and filemap.txt into the src directory.

Some people have mentioned having problems extracting the above downloads using WinZip. The problem seems to be caused by the files being saved with the wrong extension. So if you have difficulty opening them make sure that the files have a .tgz extension on them. Or if you want you can try downloading lds-get in zip format or the full layout in zip format.

Please when you use the full layout don't just lds-get the entire thing, it would take forever to retrieve plus it isn't very nice to the LDS church's website!!! The proper thing to do is to copy it into another directory and then remove any items that you don't need. Especially items in the file e_m/index.html.

You can do this at http://groups-beta.google.com/group/lds-get/. This is also an excellent place for asking questions about lds-get and for searching for questions that have already been answered.

New full layout and filemap.txt. A few errors were corrected in the filemap.txt.

Version 2.0 is now released. Also a new full layout and filemap.txt. If your old version of lds-get is working fine for you I would continue to use it for now. Using this new version will possibly break things. This new version was released to handle the new format of the lds.org website. The Ensigns up to September have been added as well as some funny formating with the "True to the Faith" manual have been fixed.

Version 1.8 released. I found a fairly serious bug in 1.7 where links weren't being created properly, if you are using version 1.7 you should update immediately.

New full layout and filemap.txt. The May 2005 Ensign has been added. I have also taken the opportunity to add the "Lectures on Faith", version 1.7 of lds.get is needed to retrieve this content. NOTE: The Lectures on Faith are not approved by the LDS Church, it is being hosted on this site and I am still working on cleaning it up. Please read the notes that I have written with that content.

Version 1.7 released. The most important enhancement is it is now able to handle some content from sites other than lds.org.

Note that you need version 1.6 of lds-get for Gospel Fundamentals to retrieve properly.

Version 1.6 released. A couple of more html cleanups thanks to Tim Riker as well as I fixed a bug that showed up when trying to retrieve Gospel Fundamentals.

Version 1.4 released. Fixed a small bug in the conversion of non-scripture files which caused some links, that did not have a verse number, to be removed.

Version 1.3 released and a new full layout. The bible dictionary and guide to the scriptures are both now available. This required more than just changes to the filemap and the layout since the old converter wasn't able to figure out the hyperlinks between these two sets of documents and the scriptures. But everything seems to work great now.

Happy New Year! New full layout and filemap.txt. Additions include a number of ensigns (January 2005 and all remaining from 2004), a few manuals (Our Heritage, The Presidents of the Church, Preparing for Exaltation), and the Children's Songbook.

Version 1.2 has been released. This version now uses relative links between the layout files and the rest of the files. This means that you can move the entire set of files to somewhere else on your computer or your could zip it up and move it to a different computer. I also fixed a minor bug in how the layout files were read by lds-get.

New filemap.txt. A number of additions including more of the Teachings of the Prophets manuals, more primary manuals, and more gospel doctrine manuals.

December 2004 ensign added.

The standard set of hymns has been added. All of the Teachings of the Prophets manuals have been added.

Version 1.1 released. This new version is less sensitive to changes to file locations on lds.org (the filemap now only contains the table of contents page, the rest of the pages are retrieved through this page). The code has been restructured a little and a small bug has been fixed (all local urls are now prefixed with 'file://'). Also the layouts have been changed slightly. We now distribute to standard layouts: a very small example layout, and a full layout which contains references to everything in the filemap.

lds.org has changed the locations of a number of the pages on their website. Created an updated version of the filemap.

Put up a new version of filemap.txt added the October 2004 conference proceeding to it (November 2004 Ensign).
